Skull Nail Art

Since its the beginning of October, I thought I'd try out some Halloween-themed nail art.
Skull nail art on red nail polish.

I started off with painting my nails with a base coat.
I used O.P.I nailpolish called "Monsooner or Later"
2 coats of "Monsooner or Later" nail polish
I used  nail art pen in "Black" by Sally Hansen
I used the nail art pen to roughly outline and sketch my skull design.
Nail art pen in "white" by Fing'rs

Filled outline of skull using my "white" polish from the Fing'rs nail art pen.
Add details using black polish. I used a toothpick to grab some of the black color from the Sally Hansen nail art pen since it allows me to be more precise compared to using the nail art pen by itself. I'm not too fond of the black nail art pen because it sometimes makes a big mess when I'm trying to dispense the color.
And I ruined the whole design by adding rhinestones in the shape of a 'bow'... HAHAHA!
Here's one with a spider on its head :P
I hope you liked my silly skull nail art design! :P
Do you have some fun Halloween nail art designs? Please share! :P

Valentine's Nail Art

haha! My lame attempt at trying to do the "marble" effect. I tried doing the "water-marbling" technique earlier but failed horribly so I erased it and just swirled a bunch of nail polishes directly on my nails. The heart design on my ring-finger was fun to do though! :)

After one of my midterms,
I was rewarded with some In & Out fries and strawberry milkshake :P I should have gotten a burger huh..
but the shake was too filling...

Just wanted to wish those of you who are swamped with school/work, GOOD LUCK! :) Hope you have time to relax and have fun.

NOTD: Yin & Yang ; Panda

Its been a while since I did a nail art post :P I still need to get me some acrylic paints and thin brushes that Asami recommended to me but I'll just share this design for now :P Sorry its kind of sloppy but I tried! :P

Here... I'll even share the right side of my nails :P I'm not very good at using my left hand to do nail art but I'm quite proud because the nail art on my right hand turned out pretty decent to me :P It took way too long though! :P

Haha! and I don't know why but I tried to paint little pandas onto my thumb :P They look so funny but I'll probably just keep them on my nails because it reminds me of the sneezing-panda video on youtube :P

NOTD

("Monsooner or Later" & "Banana Bandanna" Nail Polish; Konad stamping nail art) haha.. I stamped the "Love" character upside down :P oops.. it looks okay when my nails face me tho :P

I was shopping the other day and came across a place in the mall that sold O.P.I nail polishes :) I didn't have any nail polish from O.P.I so I thought I might try some :)

I got only two: "Monsooner or Later" and "Banana Bandanna"
I like the names... pretty creative :P

I really loved the way "Banana Bandanna" looked on Asami's nails when she did her "Cupcake Manicure" so I had to get that. I don't own any yellow colored nail polishes so this was a nice addition to my small collection. :)

I'm wearing 3 coats of "Banana Bandana" and I liked it a lot. Asami has a much better swatch of this on her blog (Nails by Asami). You should definitely check her blog out for nail art inspiration. She has so many pretty designs and very clear step-by-step picture tutorials too. Her blog is one of my favorites!

hee.. pretty random.. :P this was my first time trying these...
wanted to share pics coz the bears had little belly-buttons :P haha!

Nail Polish Thinner and NOTD

I had never heard of nail polish thinner before and so I used to just add nail polish remover whenever my nail polish became thicker... :P
So I was excited when I got some Nail Polish Thinner by Beauty Secrets (I had mentioned this before in an earlier post) .

This is a mini nail polish bottle that had dried out a very long time ago...
The nail polish looks pretty gross... all clumpy and gooey...

Added some nail polish thinner to see if it could save it...

Yay!!! I couldn't believe it actually made that dried up nail polish back into the same consistency as it was before :) What a shame... I could have saved my other dried up nail polish instead of throwing them away...

And there is that same nail polish on my nails :) I didn't do a very good job at applying but its late at night and I'm tired :P
I still tried Narita's cute mini bows though :) Was pretty fun and I really liked how simple it was to do! :P Thanks Narita for your fun tutorial! :)

NOTD: Watermelon!

Just wanted to share my new nail design :)
I was looking at NaiLz-iN-AuS's nail art and loved her "watermelon" nail design so so much, I had to try it myself!!! It looked so cute on her nail! But I think that watermelon nails are so much cuter! Thanks so much NaiLz-iN-AuS for the inspiration!
Here are some pics of how it turned out...

I painted all of my nails with the pink nail polish first. Added light green nail polish to only the tips of the nails. NaiLz-iN-AuS used white but I just wanted to try light green and see how it turns out :P Then, I added another darker green nail polish to the very tips leaving only a little bit of the light green to show.
I used my Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen again to draw the "watermelon seeds" and decorated it with white so it can stand out a little more...
I loved the design so much I even painted my toes to look like watermelon slices!!! :P

What do you think? :)
