Easy "Brush Guard"

I was watching Dustin Hunter's YouTube video (Quick Tricks: Drying Your Brushes) the other day and I thought that he gave such a great tip on how to dry your makeup brushes after you have cleaned them.
Here's his video:

I don't own brush guards so I've been laying my makeup brushes on a towel at a slant to try and keep the water away from the ferrule. -__-;;;
I didn't really believe this tip was going to work very well so I decided to try it. I had extra TP lying around anyway :p
My army of brushes all wrapped up tight

so....did it work??

Say Hello to Model Annie Chow

It is so hard to take pictures of a black cat :P The majority of the pictures always turn out to be a black fuzzyball.
Just wanted to share what I do on some sunny afternoons; Bug Annie by taking tons of pictures of her :p I think she likes the attention from the look of her face :p

"I am blind, please help."

I got this story forwarded to me and just wanted to share. I do feel like I need a little reminder like this every once in a while because I take too many things for granted.

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help."
There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign
came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked,
"Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way."
What he had written was: "
Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it."

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?
Of course both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind.
But the first sign simply told people to help by putting some money in the hat. The second sign told people that they were able
to enjoy the beauty of the day, but the boy could not enjoy it because he was blind.
The first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind.

Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile.
Face your past without regret.
Handle your present with confidence.
Prepare for the future without fear.
Keep the faith and drop the fear.

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling.
And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it !!!

The difference between the impossible and possible lies in a person's determination.

Nekkei Matsuri

Hi all!
I went to the Nekkei-Matsuri (Japanese-American Festival) in San Jose Japantown a while back and just wanted to share pictures! :)
They had a good amount of stores that sold a lot of neat stuff: jewelry, crafts, ceramics, shirts, patterned paper, etc. Definitely a lot of hand-made items too.
I have no idea why I took a picture of these kitty greeting cards haha! :P
Awwww! A teddy in a mini kimono! Isn't that so adorable! :P They also made kimonos for barbies. Awesome stuff.
They also had some entertainment. Man, they make me want to learn how to beat the Taiko drums!
It was a pretty hot day so it was nice to go inside and watch the sword performance. Sorry for the dark picture. There wasn't much lighting inside. That hot girl in front was bad ass!
People busy making tempura! I was being a fatty and so I ate it before I got to take a picture of it :P
At least I got to take a quick picture of the calamari. :p Yum!
Fat Ox!!! :P
Haha this amused me :p
Here's the full display if you were curious...
Fat horse. Haha! I can't help it! Fat stubby looking animals amuse me! :P

Maybe you are sick of seeing fat stubby stuff, I'll end this post with pretty ikebana then...

What do you think of High-Waisted Skirts?

I was shopping the other day and I tried this on...

I liked the skirt because it was cute but I did not buy it :P
I'm not quite used to wearing my skirts (or anything really) that high...

yay? nay?

Any advice on how to wear them? :P
